A rigorous, inspiring Torah education that ignites a lifetime of learning
At the center of life at Pischei Olam is the Beis Medrash — a sacred space where the sound of Torah fills the air from morning until night. Our Beis Medrash program is built on the principle that the most important thing a bochur can develop in his yeshiva years is a genuine love for learning.
Every bochur in Pischei Olam learns the masechta being studied that zman at a level appropriate to his skills. Younger bochurim develop strong foundational skills in reading, translating, and analyzing Gemara, while more advanced talmidim delve into the mefarshim, Rishonim, and Acharonim with depth and precision.
Our Beis Medrash is open around the clock. Many bochurim can be found at their shtenders long after the formal seder has ended — a testament to the genuine ahavas Torah our program cultivates.
Our multi-layered shiur structure ensures that bochurim develop in every dimension of Torah scholarship — analytical depth, breadth of knowledge, and practical halacha.
The cornerstone of our learning. Delivered twice weekly by the Rosh Yeshiva and maggidei shiur, each in-depth shiur develops original analysis of the masechta. Bochurim prepare the sugya in chavrusa and are expected to contribute to the discussion. These shiurim cultivate genuine lomdus.
A daily bekiyus shiur covers ground at a steady pace, building breadth of knowledge across the masechta and beyond. Bochurim develop the habit of covering material consistently and the satisfaction of meaningful progress through Shas.
A structured Halacha program covering the practical halachos of daily life — Shabbos, kashrus, tefila, and more. Bochurim learn from the Mishnah Brurah and relevant poskim, developing the knowledge to lead Torah-observant lives with confidence and clarity.
Weekly Chumash shiurim focus on the parsha with classic and modern mefarshim, including Rashi, Ramban, Sforno, and Netziv. Our Navi curriculum covers the early and later prophets with attention to themes of emunah, Jewish history, and timeless lessons.
A Machshava curriculum explores Jewish philosophy and worldview through classic texts — Kuzari, Derech Hashem, Nefesh HaChaim, and more. Bochurim develop a coherent, articulate Jewish identity and the intellectual tools to navigate the modern world with clarity.
Daily Mussar seder and weekly Mussar vaadim with the Mashgiach guide bochurim in the ongoing work of character refinement. We draw from the major Mussar masters — Mesilas Yesharim, Orchos Tzaddikim, Stanbul Mussar — to cultivate genuine middos tovos.
The chavrusa system — learning in pairs — is the backbone of Torah study since time immemorial. At Pischei Olam, we treat chavrusa matching as a deliberate, thoughtful process. Rebbeim carefully pair bochurim based on their skills, personalities, and learning styles to maximize both intellectual growth and personal connection.
A good chavrusa relationship is more than a study partner — it is a relationship of mutual accountability, shared excitement over a good kasha, and the deep satisfaction of working through a difficult Tosafos together and arriving at clarity.
Many of our alumni cite their chavrusa relationships as among the most formative of their lives — and friendships forged in our Beis Medrash endure for decades.
Rebbeim regularly check in with chavrusa pairs, offering guidance on how to learn together more effectively and how to bring out the best in each other.
Chavrusa assignments are revisited each zman to ensure optimal pairings as bochurim grow and develop throughout their years at Pischei Olam.
Our structured daily schedule is designed to maximize productive learning time while ensuring bochurim have time for davening, meals, rest, and personal growth.
